MATT Ford believes his Pirates class of 2011 is the most exciting team he has assembled in more than 10 years at Wimborne Road.
The Poole Castle Cover chief was speaking ahead of the Dorset club’s Elite Knockout Cup second leg against Swindon tomorrow, where the hosts boast a 34-point advantage following a scintillating performance at Blunsdon last week.
Ford, who will also watch spearhead Chris Holder defend his British Grand Prix title at Cardiff on Saturday, said: “This is a fantastic era for the club and I genuinely believe we have the most exciting riders in this side than I have ever had during my time promoting since 1999. I want the whole town to enjoy it.
“We have a mammoth advantage from the first leg and this is also the week we can give the best possible send off to number one Chris Holder as he defends the British Grand Prix.”
Meanwhile, manager Neil Middleditch has warned his riders to be on their guard – despite facing the Robins with such a huge advantage.
Middleditch said: “They know that the job isn’t quite done yet. There are still 15 heats to go.”
Ford is offering reduced prices for tomorrow’s meeting. Adults can watch the action for £10, with children at £2.
