SPANISH stars Emilio Sanchez Vicario and Sergio Casal rounded off a three-day coaching course with an exhibition match at West Hants.
The former Grand Slam doubles champions edged out Dorset duo Matt Coombes and Andy Phillips in a final-game decider after the match finished 6-6.
The British over-40s number one doubles pair pushed their illustrious opponents all the way before losing by 10 points to eight.
More than 300 people watched the contest, which helped raise £25,000 for the Dorset Tennis Initiative. Forty youngsters, aged 10-18, and 30 coaches, attended the courses each day.
Phillips and his 30-strong stringing team, meanwhile, will be at Wimbledon for the next fortnight attending to the needs of Andy Murray and co. His Verwood-based company, Apollo Leisure, has the contract to re-string all the players’ rackets.
