POOLE ended their Southern Junior League campaign in winning style in a close-fought B final at Littledown, where 48 points covered the first five teams.

Lewis Harding contributed to seven of Poole’s 23 race wins, including individual victories in the 10yrs and 11yrs 50m backstroke and the 10yrs 50m freestyle.

Double winners were Jessica Richens (11yrs 50m fly and breast), Jacob Peters (10yrs and 11yrs 50m fly), Alex Price (12yrs 50m breast and free) and Harry Kemp (11yrs 50m breast and free).

Other winners were Kelvin Wong (10yrs 50m breast), Harrison Moore (12yrs 50m fly), Georga Harrison (11yrs 50m free), Kieran Olenicz (12yrs 50m back) and eight relay teams.

The relay wins included a particularly impressive 4x25m freestyle time of 59.56sec by the 12/u boys team of Harry Kemp, Bradley Currie, Harrison Moore and Alex Price.

• The number of Poole swimmers heading for next month’s (July) national championships has risen from 13 to 15 after their girls’ 4x100m freestyle relay team were accepted for the youth championships.

Danielle Burry and Katie Mills will now join the individually-qualified Fiona Hardie and Courtney Rowan at the National Youth Championships in Sheffield.

The quartet won bronze in the recent South West Youth Championships.
