Swim Bournemouth’s Rachel Hawkins emerged with seven medals from seven events at the Bracknell and Wokingham Open Meet – four of them gold.
The 14-year-old’s wins came in the 14yrs 50 and 100m backstroke (33.90 and 1:15.19) and 100 and 200m butterfly (1:11.11 and 2:47.23).
She also won silver in the 50m butterfly (34.06) and 200m individual medley (2:43.81) and bronze in the 100m medley (1:19.35).
• Zoe Gannaway won four golds to lead an 11-medal haul by six Seagulls swimmers at the Portsmouth Northsea End-of-Season meet for non-national qualifiers.
The 10-year-old won the 50 and 100m freestyle (33.46 and 1:12.36), 50m breaststroke (46.11) and 100m butterfly in 1:24.78, a time which ranks her fifth in Britain in her age group.
Cianan Mann won gold in the 15/o 100m backstroke (1:08.36) and bronze in the 50m fly in 28.61, which lowered his own club record.
Aussie Matthew Sutton, 13, who is training with Seagulls during a family visit to England, achieved his aim of “beating the Poms” when he won gold, silver and bronze respectively in the 50, 200 and 100m breaststroke (38.26, 3:06.21 and 1:25.30).
Chloe Scott won silver in the 10yrs 100m freestyle (1:20.25) and bronze in the 400m freestyle (6:10.53).
• Former Bournemouth Dolphin Amelia Maughan, 15, won a silver medal as a member of Britiain’s 4x100m freestyle relay team at the European Junior Championships in Belgrade, but missed out on an individual medal, finishing sixth and 11th.
