GARETH Barnes was the four-goal star as Sway overpowered Old Oakmeadianss 8-2 in the third round of the M A Hart Pickford Cup. Ben Thomson, Stuart Clark and Danny Veal were the other Sway marksmen with Sam Elliott and Josh Carter replying for Old Oaks.
Ed Ewens netted for Westover but the reigning Premier Division champions crashed out 3-1 against Parley Sports whose goals came from Johnny Cook, Joe Meyer and an own goal.
Substitute John Lever bagged the winner to give Electric the verdict 3-2 against FC Bournemouth. Leigh Phillips and Liam McGlynn were the other Sparkies scorers with James Bates and Mike Walsh replying for FC Bournemouth.
Ferndown Sports were leading 2-0 through Ashley Hoff and Kevin Crabb with 15 minutes remaining before Bournemouth Manor managed to force the tie into extra-time. And Manor emerged 4-2 winners thanks to John Bastable (2), Luke Scrim-shaw and Malcolm McDonnell.
Bisterne United netted through Dan Taylor, Craig Frost and Craig Coleman but Sturminster Marshall edged them out 4-3 with goals from Erkan Mete, Adam Wood, Matt Jones and Ciaran Miller.
Simon Young bagged a hat-trick and Jamie Clark a double as the Bosun’s Chair triumph 5-0 over Mudeford, while Holt eased Allendale out 3-1 with goals from Danny Vuilleumier, Dave Lane and Paul Lane.
Mike Thompson scored all five goals in Queens Park Athletic’s 5-2 first-round win over Mploy.
Central defender Nick Reed grabbed a hat-trick when Richmond Park Con toppled A&T Athletic 9-0 with the other goals coming from Mark Pudney (2), Andy Harman (2), Dominic Parnell and an own goal.
Mike Dawson plundered a hat-trick in New Milton Eagles’ 7-0 triumph over Shamrock with Shaun Miller (2), Chris Payne and Jon Spooner also on target.
Danny Swager’s hat-trick proved decisive when AFC Pennington surprised Division Two outfit St Mary’s 5-3 after extra-time with Lloyd Cavill and Tom Jourdan adding one apiece.
Division Two Linnets also lost to a Division Four side when Bransgore emerged 4-2 winners thanks to Charlie Field’s treble and a goal from Adam Parker.
