Cherries boss Lee Bradbury wants to maintain a good working relationship with south coast neighbours Portsmouth and Southampton.

Bradbury will have a keen eye on developments at Fratton Park following the departure of manager Steve Cotterill to Nottingham Forest last week.

Former Cherries striker Cotterill, who is good friends with Bradbury and assistant Steve Fletcher, recommended players to the pair during his time at Pompey.

Bradbury has also called on Saints boss Nigel Adkins for help in the loan market this season with striker Ryan Doble spend-|ing a couple of months with Cherries.

Speaking to the Daily Echo following Cherries’ 2-2 draw at MK Dons on Saturday, Bradbury, who lives in Fareham, said: “Portsmouth is down the road from me and are a club we could call on if we needed loans or a bit of help.

“I have got a good relationship with Steve Cotterill and with Nigel Adkins as well. Hopefully, after a new manager has gone into Portsmouth, we will be able to do the same.

“Both clubs have got some really good players and I have been to watch quite a few of them. It is something I want to get happening.

“If they have got players who are surplus to requirements that they are happy to loan out, I would be willing to take them if they are the right players for us.”

• The Echo yesterday requested interviews with Eddie Mitchell, Lee Bradbury, Shaun MacDonald and Steve Fletcher but these requests were declined by the club.
