BUZZING Pirates chief Matt Ford has told the Bournemouth and Poole public: “Whatever you are doing tonight, change your plans.”

Poole Castle Cover go into tonight’s second leg of the Elite League Knockout Cup final on the brink of a historic treble, having already claimed the Elite League title and Best Pairs crown this season.

And Ford has given the Dorset public a huge incentive by slashing his ticket prices for tonight’s meeting to just £10 for adults and free entry for children.

Ford, whose side go into tonight’s clash two points behind Belle Vue, said: ““Everybody at Poole Speedway is excited and we believe are on the brink of an historic season.

“But it’s important to stress that our opponents Belle Vue are the only team to have won at Poole this season when they were victorious by three points at the start of last month.

“It’s also a fact that in our semi-final with Eastbourne we won the first leg at home by two points – just like Belle Vue – and Eagles were feeling confident until we went and won in Sussex in the second leg.

“This tie is far from over and I know with the likes of Rory Schlein and Chris Harris leading their side we are in for a real second leg battle.

“I’m now even more delighted we have set admissions at a reduced £10 for adults and children free because I need Poole Stadium to be a sea of blue and white tonight.”

Pirates were, at one stage, 17-7 adrift in Manchester during last night’s first leg, but fought back to get within two points.

Ford added: ““It was a character building exercise and we struggled at the start of the meeting, but the team rallied in the middle of the match and once again Kevin Wolbert was the shining star at reserve with an outstanding double-figure return.

“Over this last month, his contribution and commitment to the club has been absolutely phenomenal and I know supporters will save a special salute on the parade for him this evening.”

Ford concluded: “I hope all sports fans and families in the local area are listening and reading this. Whatever you’re doing tonight, change your plans.

“Get along to Poole Speedway. We already have the league title in the bag, but winning the cup and the treble would be the icing on the cake.

“We’ve even slashed the admission to 1980s prices, so there are no excuses. Come and enjoy the fastest night of your lives!”
