BOSS Graham Kemp hopes home advantage will prove decisive when Wessex Premier high-fliers Christchurch host Western Premier Division strugglers Bridport in the first round of the FA Vase at Hurn Bridge (3pm).

Kemp said: “The players know what the Vase means to me and we had a great run a couple of years ago. It is a fantastic tournament and you want to go as far as you can.

“We will prepare properly and focus on the game. We have had Bridport watched twice and they are a strong side. In Trevor Senior, they have a manager with good footballing knowledge and it is not going to be easy.

“But we are at home and I would hope to progress.”

Kemp names an unchanged squad following the midweek win over Lymington Town as Priory and the Bees face off for a place in the second round and the £900 first round prize money.

Priory: (from) Kearn, Grace, Legg, Crutchley, Dand, C Smith, M Smith, Fairbrother, Osborne, Burden, Griffin, Lovell, Kittle, Rideout, Roberts, Swann.

Bashley boss Steve Riley is hoping to have first-choice goalkeeper David Elm available for their FA Trophy first qualifying round clash at home to Worthing (3pm).

Elm is struggling with a back injury but deputy Joe Prodomo is missing due to a one-match ban.

Bash’s cause is further hindered by suspension to striker James Stokoe, with Carl Foster added.

Bash will be hoping to maintain an excellent recent record in the FA Trophy when they shoot out for £2,200 in first qualifying round prize money with the Sussex outfit who Riley helped reached the top flight of the Isthmian League in the early 1990s.

Bash: (from) Elm, Smith, Whitley, Middleton, Lloyd, Hester, Hill, Allen, Stokoe, Gamble, Green, Oliver, Penny, Gazzard, Vokes, Riley, Digby.

Wimborne Town host a Cherries youth team in a friendly at Cuthbury tonight (7.30pm).
