THE second round of the M A Pickford Cup produced some keenly-contested ties with hundred per cent Division Four high-flyers BU Staff needing extra time to subdue New Milton Eagles 4-3. Tom Symons (2), Ben Cooper and Tom Wainwright were the BU marksmen with Chris Payne, John Payne and Shahed Miah replying for the valiant Eagles.
Richmond Park Con also needed extra time to get the better of Queens Park Athetic 4-2 through Mark Pudney, Sam Cummings and Terry Daly, while Luke Dart scored both Seyward goals in their 2-0 win over Ringwood.
Bisterne were also 2-0 winners when Luke Walker and Sam Hills subdued Fordingbridge Turks and Magpies surprised South Coast Demolition by leading through Dan Pringle and Chris Bown but the hundred per cent Division Two promotion contenders came back through Steve Newman (2) and David Hounsell to win 3-2.
Mploy are through to the third round of the M A Hart Page Croft Cup after Tom Flynn (2), Ryan Nippard and Ian Musselwhite ensured a 4-1 second round victory over Galleon.
River Smith’s hat-trick proved decisive when Portcastrian reserves emerged 4-2 winners in their M A Hart Hayward Cup second round tie with Fifa Standards with Steve Pockneall getting the other goal (penalty).
It was a similar story in the third round when FC Bourne-mouth reserves ousted Alderholt reserves 4-2 thanks to Eliezer Mwaungulu’s hat-trick.
