BOURNEMOUTH Poppies had a day to forget as they suffered a 6-0 thumping at Bemerton.
Boss Ken Vaughan described the clash as the “most bizarre game I have been involved in” – with hosts Bemerton profiting from three penalties.
Vaughan was unhappy at the final two spot-kick awards, as well as Joe Byrne’s sending off for two bookable offences.
Poppies: Vaughan, Daysh, Jackson, Byrne, Crutcher, Blake (Phillipson-Masters, 75), Pinder (Mas, 79), Rowley, Ewen, Warren, Ingram. Unused subs: Hogan, Frampton (g/k).
• Billingham Synthonia will host Poppies in the FA Vase fifth round on February 11 after they defeated Runcorn Town 2-1 in a replay on Saturday.
