Cherries have tonight confirmed the signing of attacking midfielder Donal McDermott.
The former Dean Court loan star has returned to Dorset on a permanent basis – as predicted by the Daily Echo this morning.
McDermott, who helped Cherries reach the play-offs last season, today penned a three-and-a-half year contract after Cherries had agreed an undisclosed fee, understood to have been in the region of £175,000, with Huddersfield Town.
Ex-Manchester City prospect McDermott impressed for Cherries last term but opted to join League One rivals Huddersfield on a two-year deal in the summer.
However, the 22-year-old was restricted to just 11 starts for Lee Clark’s promotion-chasing outfit.
As part of the transfer, he is ineligible to line up against the Terriers this season.
Cherries swooped for McDermott after failing in a fresh attempt to buy Swindon Town’s Matt Ritchie. The Robins claimed to have rejected a six-figure offer for the playmaker.
