DONAL McDermott is convinced he can flourish in his new central role for Cherries and admits he is still learning the ropes in the position.
The Dubliner caught the eye after being deployed behind lone striker Wes Thomas during Saturday’s ill-deserved 1-0 defeat by Charlton on Saturday.
He told the club website: “I think it’s a good position for me because I get a lot of freedom and can get on the ball as much as possible. If we continue to play this formation then, hopefully, I will get better at it and there are some things I need to learn about at as well.”
• The Echo has been informed by the Cherries press office that we will no longer be permitted to interview manager Lee Bradbury, any member of the playing squad or club official.
The ban is in place at all times, including post-match. The Echo is permitted to attend Bradbury’s post-match press conferences, but the club press officer has requested that we do not ask any questions.
