DORSET athletes achieved a good selection of medals at the Sportshall South West Regional Championships in Paignton.
Poole AC achieved a trio of under-13 golds through Amber Lench (two-lap, 21.1s), Samantha Cash (standing triple jump, 6.45m) and Amelia Davis (six-lap, 1:16.5).
Charlotte Offer added silver with a 59cm vertical jump, while Wimborne AC’s Bethan Burley gained shot putt bronze with a personal best 7.74m.
The under-13 boys circuit relay team of Alfie Beddow, Oscar Howard (both Wimborne) and Ryan Glover and Jordan Harding (both Bournemouth AC) won gold.
Glover, the youngest member of the squad, also won the speed bounce with 81.
Lewis Shepherd (Poole AC) missed high jump gold on countback at 1.50m and also won the four-lap silver in 46.8s.
Wimborne AC standing long jumpers added silver (Ross Crabbe, 2.30m) and bronze (Ryan Long, 2.26m).
In the under-15s, Poole AC’s Ashleigh Power won the shot putt with 9.49m.
Club-mate George Walker won the standing long jump (2.66m) and was third in the two-lap race (20.6s).
Poole Runners were third in both shot competitions through Harry Jackson (10.68m) and Sophie Rogers (8.65m).
Teams were selected on the basis of results in the county championships and in the league, where the under-13 girls event was won by Wimborne AC for the first time in many years.
Bournemouth AC won the under-13 boys. In the under-15s, the girls title was won by Poole Runners and the boys event by Poole AC.
