Cherries club captain Warren Cummings has revealed his desire to extend his stay at Crawley Town as he bids to add another promotion to his collection.
The Dean Court stalwart is enjoying a loan spell with the League Two high-fliers after being allowed to temporarily leave Seward Stadium earlier this month.
Cummings made his Crawley debut against Torquay on March 3 after securing a one-month deal with the Broadfield Stadium outfit.
Having fallen down the Cherries pecking order following the arrival of Charlie Daniels, the long-serving defender opted to seek game-time away from Dorset.
His current loan keeps him in West Sussex until the end of the month, but the experienced left-back is keen to extend that in order to boost the Reds’ promotion push.
In an interview with The Argus newspaper, Cummings said: “I have loved my time at Crawley so far.
“Everyone has made me feel really welcome and I’ve settled in quickly.
“I would like to stay longer because I feel the squad is capable of achieving promotion and I want to be part of that.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to be part of three promotions in my career which is something I cherish, so to make that four would be incredible.”
A star of Cherries’ 2003 Millennium Stadium play-off final triumph, Cummings made his 300th appearance for the Dorset club against Wycombe in January.
Cummings, who has featured 20 times for Cherries this season, is out of contract in the summer.
He revealed the situation was being talked about but insisted it was not on his mind.
Cummings added: “My contract is up in the summer and is something we are discussing at the moment.
“Who knows what will happen but I’m not thinking about that at the moment.”
Meanwhile, Cherries boss Lee Bradbury insists Cherries are determined to prove themselves when they host Carlisle in League One this afternoon (3pm).
Cherries go into the clash on the back of five consecutive defeats.
Bradbury told the club website: “All the lads want to go out and prove that they can play well for 90 minutes and get what we deserve.”
