MANAGER Glenn Burnett watched the finale of New Milton Town’s defeat among the crowd after being dismissed from the technical area.
The Linnets boss confirmed he had been sent from the dugout in the 88th minute for disputing a refereeing decision.
To compound Burnett’s misery, his men then conceded a late goal to lose 2-1 against Alresford Town at Fawcett’s Field in the Wessex Premier.
New signing Robert Lofters-Desport had netted on his Milton debut to put the hosts in front on 43 minutes.
But the visitors hit back after the break, while Linnets’ prolific striker Alex Baldacchino failed to sign off in goalscoring style on his final appearance before joining Poole Town.
Burnett said: “With Alex Baldacchino, it was going to go one of two ways on his last game for us.
“He missed more chances than he had all season – and he even missed a penalty!
“We had enough chances to win two or three games.”
Linnets: Rowe, Case, Donaldson, Holland (Proctor, 70), Curtis, Barge, Gilkes, Tanner, Baldacchino, Moth, Lofters-Desport (Graham, 70). Unused sub: Morris.
• Luke Burbidge fired Hamworthy United to victory after boss Simon Browne had been hit by three player withdrawals on the morning of Hammers’ home clash with Fawley.
Burbidge struck in the 33rd and 65th minutes to secure a 2-1 success against Fawley, whose goal came from Matt Vining.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men late on when Aaron Blaxall saw red, while Burbidge missed out on a hat-trick as he failed to convert a second-half penalty.
Hammers manager Browne said: “We applied ourselves really well and I would say that the scoreline flattered Fawley.”
Hammers: Evans, Wyatt, White, Horlock, Haysom, Lanahan, Pidgley (Staines, 70), Stacey, Robinson, Burbidge, Chudy (Basing, 80). Unused sub: Cannie.
• Callum Burt’s early goal proved enough to hand high-flying Christchurch a 1-0 victory at Blackfield & Langley.
Burt finished a fine team goal as Priory won what manager Graham Kemp described as a “real battle”.
Kemp added: “I thought it was a very big win for us.”
Priory: Collins, Thompson, Legg, Crutchley, Costello, Burt, Smith, Harris (Lovell, 70), Osborne (Kittle, 75), Burden, Griffin. Unused subs: Dand, Taylor, Prodomo (g/k).
