HOSTS Swanage and Wareham finished runners-up in both events of their under-14 sevens tournament.
In the 10-team event Swanage entered as the Vikings and Saxons.
Vikings came second to Bridport A in the plate competition, while Saxons were runners-up to Sherborne in the cup.
The Swans also fielded an under-13 team who competed well despite losing all their matches.
Fielding two under-14 teams left Swans with no substitutes and meant that all 14 players played every one of their pool matches.
Saxons reached the final in grand style without conceding a point, but ran out of steam in the final against Sherborne.
Swans under-14 coach and tournament organiser Steve Gynes said: “I hope this will be the first of many such events. The rugby and sportsmanship on show was of a very high standard.
“All credit to the worthy winners and to all the gallant losers, there was a very good spirit throughout the day with family members, coaches and friends contributing to the friendly atmosphere and smooth running of the tournament.”
Teams: Sherborne, Bridport A and B, New Milton A and B, Oakmeadians, Bourne-mouth, Swans under-13s, Swans under-14s (Saxons and Vikings).
