STRIKER Russell Cook appears to have conceded defeat in his bid to cut it in the Southern League after returning to Wessex Premier Christchurch.
Cook, a product of the Priory youth ranks, had spells with both Poole and Wimborne at a higher level but was hampered by a nasty injury.
Already dual registered with Christchurch, Cook will see out the campaign at Hurn Bridge and will be available for their Wessex League and Russell-Cotes Cup finals.
Priory boss Graham Kemp said: “Russell got a bad injury playing for Poole last season and has never quite fully recovered.
“He has always done exceptionally well when he has played for us but found it difficult to break in at either Poole or Wimborne.
“Like most people, he just wants to play.
“He has come to us for the rest of season because he knows he will get games and we will take it from there.”
Cook is in contention to start when high-flying Priory host struggling Brading Town at Hurn Bridge tomorrow (3pm).
Colin Dand misses out due to a head injury.
