LIONS chief David Dunn has warned his men that they must focus fully on the hurdles ahead as their promotion pursuit enters the final furlong.

Bournemouth are just three victories away from National Three South West glory following last weekend’s epic victory over title rivals Chinnor.

Lions face arguably their toughest assignment of the run-in tomorrow when they travel to sixth-placed Old Patesians.

The Cheltenham-based outfit have a decent record and in player-coach Rob Fidler, they boast a vastly experienced ex-professional in their ranks.

Director of rugby Dunn told the Daily Echo: “It is not an easy place to go – with difficult opposition and difficult playing conditions.

“We would be foolish to take things lightly after the tremendous efforts of the season so far, including last weekend. We would be foolish if we did not prepare absolutely thoroughly for this one to make sure we maximise our chances of victory.

“We are full of confidence after the win over Chinnor and we are in our rightful position at the top of the league. But we have got to perform.

“It can’t be a case of after the Lord Mayor’s Show and there is no place for any complacency.”

Bournemouth have a number of knocks following the bruising clash with Chinnor but Dunn has named an unchanged squad to select from, Lions: (from) K Lynch, Searle, Bruce, Connolly, Edwards, Chislett, Flynn, Pollard, Hardcastle, Hughes, Hart, Dunkerley, Hennings, Forrest, Seward, Wiseman, Manning, Wilford, Cawley, Tarrant, Burns.

• In South West One East, Swanage & Wareham entertain Coney Hill. Southern Counties South leaders North Dorset travel to third-placed Dorchester, while Wimborne host Oakmeadians in a Dorset derby. Blandford have a home clash with Trowbridge while in London Three South West, Ellingham & Ringwood travel to Old Freemens.
