MOTOCROSS-mad brothers Ben Holland, aged seven, and Mathew Holland, six, are making a big impression on Ringwood Schoolboy Motocross Club’s scene this season on their production Austrian-built KTM Automatic 50cc machines.
The Holland brothers, who attend Puddletown First School, both joined their local motocross club this season after elder brother Ben caught the MX bug during the 2011 season.
Ben recorded overall seventh position racing in the Cadets Auto 50cc class, the youngest group catered for by the club which is six to nine years of age at the Club Championship round held at Honiton last month.
His younger brother Mathew, meanwhile, was hot on his brother’s heels finishing overall eighth place after both had completed their three races for the day.
Dad Stuart said: “Motocross is such a great sport where the whole family can get involved.
“Ben and Mathew are just hooked on the sport now, while their mother Melanie helps with results and I try to help where I can securing venues for the club.”
Other youth classes the Ringwood MX club caters for are the Junior 65cc (eight to 10-year-olds), Small Wheel 85s (10 to 13), Big Wheel 85s (13 to 15) and the Youth Rookies group (14 to 17) who compete on 125cc and 250 four-stroke machines.
There are also several adult classes.
