FOLLOWING our training in Cadiz, we are relishing the chance to get settled in the UK next week.
We had a good couple of months in Spain but we are really looking forward to being back on home waters and really putting in some good hours in Weymouth.
We plan to train with the American and Russian teams this week and our aim is to do a lot of racing – it is nice when you have got a few different teams to compete with.
We will be getting in our practice before going straight out to our next World Cup event.
In many ways, being back in Weymouth will feel like the next stage of our training going into this summer’s Games.
We will really try to focus our hours in Weymouth and keep learning about the venue as much as we can. We will try to settle in there and make it feel like home.
We finished sixth at our most recent event, the Princess Sofia World Cup Regatta, in Palma last week.
Overall, we were quite pleased with how we sailed. The final result was not what we would have hoped for but certainly in the early rounds, we were sailing pretty well.
It is always a bit of a relief, after going away and training for a couple of months, to come back and actually perform in some of the areas you have been working on. It was a nice feeling.
We hope to continue the good work in Weymouth. Thanks for your support.
