Wimborne Town’s under-13 girls will be looking to complete a league and cup double when they play Weysports United in the Dorset County Cup final at Canford Arena tomorrow (11am).
The side head in to the game having utterly dominated the Dorset under-13s girls league, with a 100 per cent record.
The team also notched an astonishing 192 goals over that period, with a goal difference of 184, capping a remarkable campaign for the side who were only formed at the beginning of the current season.
Head coach Tony Stuart said he was looking forward to the game. “I’m delighted we won the league, so this cup final is just a bonus. I’m hoping for a good performance,” he said.
Meanwhile, Wimborne Town under-15s are playing Poole Town FC Wessex in the under-15 final.
Stuart added: “It’s pleasing to see two sides in the finals. It’s all part of the philosophy we have here at Wimborne – we are trying to create a successful girls’ club.”
