DORSET star Lynnlette Aung clinched two silver medals at the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes.
Lynnlette represented the county in the under-17 event held over two days last month.
The 15-year-old played well in the earlier rounds and cruised through to the semi-finals without dropping a game.
And the Dorset girl had a walkover into the final when Yorkshire’s Natalie Chan Lam had to retire after one game of the semi-final with a back injury.
Lynnlette, however, fell at the final hurdle, losing 21-14, 21-13 to number one seed Chloe Birch, also from Yorkshire.
The Talbot Heath schoolgirl then teamed up with regular partner Jess Hopton from Avon for the girl’s doubles.
The duo also lost in the final against the favourites and European silver medallists Viki Williams from Hampshire and Jenny Moore from Cheshire.
n Ten-year-old Lily Stent from Bournemouth reached the semi-finals of the Margaret Tipton under-12 tournament in Reading, before losing to the eventual winner Freya Patel-Redfearn from Middlesex.
St Katherine’s schoolgirl Lily did even better at the Torbay Open under-11 event, beating Bhavika Mistry 21-16 in the semi-final, and only narrowly losing to Devon’s Lucy Cooper in the tournament’s final 21-19.
In the under-11 girls doubles, Lily and Cherry (Lily’s nine-year-old sister) played together and won four of their six games to claim bronze medals.
