SOUTHERN League pair Bournemouth and Bashley both suffered heavy defeats in the second round of the Kingfisher Cup on Sunday.
Chasing South Wilts’s 200 for nine at Chapel Gate, Bournemouth were shot out for 125, leaving them on the receiving end of a 75-run reverse.
The Lions reply had started promisingly after Mark House (27) and Michael Porter (26) had put on 63 for the first wicket.
However, after the openers had both departed, only Ryan Scott (34) offered any resistance as James Hayward (3-6) and Eddie Abel (3-27) got among the wickets.
Bashley’s challenge faltered against Bath on Northern Parade where the hosts racked up a formidable 285 for seven from their 45 overs.
And although Neil Thurgood (36) and Andy Neal (27) both made significant contributions, Bashley were eventually rolled over for a spirited 205.
