HOME favourite Tom Seville was pipped to the inaugural Playgolf Bournemouth Junior Open crown by a county winner.
The 11-year-old amassed an impressive 44 Stableford points and was the halfway leader at the Christchurch Golf Club venue.
But early-starter Tom was overtaken on the final stretch by newly-crowned Peter Alliss Young Masters Matchplay champion George Hawkins.
The 15-year-old Weymouth star, playing in the penultimate group, chalked up a crucial 25 points on the back nine to secure victory with a 45-point total.
Tom, meanwhile, had to settle for second place after scoring 21 on his final nine holes.
Both players can expect their 20 handicaps to be cut after their successful tournaments.
George’s latest silverware will sit proudly next to the Dorset CGU’s Peter Alliss junior trophy he won at Ferndown in April.
Tom’s Parkstone club-mate Sam Brooke was third with 43 points, while three players were tied on 41 points.
Joint Ferndown and Christ-church member Dan Collier was fourth on countback, while Oscar Perry (Parkstone) and Joe Turner (Christchurch) finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
Oscar had lost to winner Graham in the semi-final of the Peter Alliss event last month.
Playgolf Bournemouth assistant PGA professional and organiser Dan Clark said: “The event went very well, especially as the weather had been so poor during the week and the competition was close to being postponed. It was the inaugural junior open here at Playgolf and I am sure it will be the first of many.
“The youngsters all seemed to leave with smiles, apart from those who were Man U fans!”
