With just a week-and-a-half to go, entries for the International Paints Poole Regatta are flooding in.
The regatta includes some important championships such as the J24 national championship, the IRC southern regional championship and the sonata southern as well as a number of one design classes and multi-hulls.
Three full days of racing are planned in Poole Bay and Poole Harbour and there will be up to four separate race areas in the bay, each with its own committee boat and support RIBs.
The social programme, starting on Friday, June 1 will see Hotel du Vin hosting a reception for all entrants between 7.30pm and 9pm at The Mansion House, Thames Street, just off Poole Quay.
This year’s event charity, The Tall Ships Youth Trust, is bringing two of its Challenger yachts to race as well as a catamaran.
There are still spaces on the yachts for young people and the trust is still trying to find an appropriate group for the catamaran.
Any young people interested in sailing on these yachts can contact the trust via their website tallships.org.
