EDDIE Mitchell has confirmed Cherries are in negotiations with Millwall over a swap deal involving Scott Malone and Josh McQuoid.
Malone interrupted his holiday in Marbella to fly back to the UK for a medical at the Den on Thursday and, after agreeing terms with the Londoners, could put pen to paper as soon as tomorrow - as long as McQuoid can agree terms with Cherries.
The 22-year-old Northern Ireland international is understood to be close to finalising a lucrative deal to return to Dean Court - after just over a year in South London.
Chairman Mitchell, speaking to the Echo in the past half-an-hour, said: "There has been toing and froing and some discussions but, at this moment in time, that's all it is.
"It's an ongoing situation but is not finalised yet.
"There have been discussions regarding a swap with Scott Malone and Josh McQuoid, but it's at the negotiation stage and whether it will come off or not is down to the two players and the two clubs."
McQuoid left Dean Court on loan in November 2010, before signing a permanent deal, believed to have been worth around £515,000, at the Den in January 2011.
Malone, meanwhile, joined Cherries on loan from Wolves early last season before penning a three-and-a-half-year contract in January of this year.
