PIRATES chief Matt Ford is confident Adrian Miedzinski will stay at Wimborne Road – but he admits the rider’s future remains up in the air.

Poole Coastal Aluminium are keen to retain Miedzinski’s services for the rest of the 2012 season.

The Polish ace, dubbed ‘Wild Thing’ for his riding style, initially joined the defending Elite League champions on a short-term loan contract.

That deal expired at the end of May and Miedzinski must now decide if he wants to prolong his spell in Dorset.

Ford told the Daily Echo: “We are still in talks and I should have an answer in the next week or two as to whether he is staying.

“I am still hopeful but he has not actually said that he will at this point in time.”

The 26-year-old has impressed during his time at the club and has played an important role in Pirates’ record-breaking start to the campaign.

He has registered 89 points in 11 meetings during a productive period for Pirates.

Miedzinski missed Thursday’s win at Peterborough due to commitments in Poland and he is again unavailable for today’s clash at Eastbourne due to his participation in Grand Prix qualifiers in Austria.
