Bashley boss Frank Gray will hope to steer his side back on course after taking a wrong turn in Cambridge at the weekend.
Bash almost ended up at the Abbey Stadium, home of Cambridge United, before quickly rerouting to City’s Milton Road ground in time to lose 3-1 in their Southern League opener.
Gray said: “It was disappointing to lose three goals from three crosses and headers – we didn’t defend very well.
“In the second half, we gave as good as we got and although their third on the break killed it a little bit, there were plenty of positives.”
Bashley host Frome Town in their opening home match of the new season tonight (7.45pm) with Gray determined to take the game to the opposition.
“They beat a well fancied Totton side at the weekend but it is up to us to stamp our authority on the game.”
Injury-hit Bash will be without striker Mark Gamble, defender Matt Finlay (both ankle) and Tom Hill (dead leg), but Ian Richardson is due to make his debut in defence.
