I FEEL so strongly about the fact that the government want to spend so many million pounds on a new train system, when the present system needs updating so badly!
Surely it would be better to spend the money on getting the present system up together, and reorganising what is already in place.
I can remember catching a train from Bournemouth direct to Edinburgh. Not any more. You now have to change halfway – and I am sure this isn’t the only route that isn’t satisfactory.
It just seems so senseless to be considering the option that will help a few businesses in the Midlands, when so many other places are just as important.
Let’s look after what we’ve got already, and get it run more efficiently, and replace with more comfortable carriages. JO REYNOLDS, Woolslope Road, West Moors
