IT is understood that the last-ditch bid to save the Dorset Enterprise factory has been turned down by the councillors, resulting in the workers being abandoned to whatever destiny awaits them.
In reality only long-term unemployment together with dependency on benefits is the most likely outcome.
Is it not the case that the said action group to be set up will in some part be of the very people whose decision it was to close the factory?
Clearly, the best way forward would be to retain the present skills and for the factory to remain open.
The financial issue needs to be addressed and if it were not for the gross feeding of the white elephants perhaps monies saved could be better used for the benefit of disabled workers.
