THE recent Same-Sex Marriage bill has certainly been controversial.

What has perhaps staggered me most regarding the recent Commons vote, is that some MPs, facing what will arguably turn out to be the most important issue of the century (the re-defining not only of marriage, but of sexuality as well as of the family) actually abstained from voting altogether.

Surely they had some conviction concerning this historic decision that will so affect future generations of our nation.
