YET again the councillors of Bournemouth are about to waste more of our hard-earned money demolishing the biggest white elephant that has ever been built in Bournemouth.
I thought that councillors were voted in to make sure that money spent on our town was for the benefit of both local people and all our visitors.
Please can someone tell us why they think an open space is going to be successful.
We do not have the glorious summer days that I remember from my childhood growing up here.
Has nobody studied the weather over the last few summers and realised that this will just be another money down the drain project? People of all ages have put forward suggestions, but no one listens to us anymore.
Why can’t we have what we want, after all surely something that would bring in money has to be a good thing for our town.
We badly need a decent swimming pool, much like the one they pulled down, and yes, I am still pushing for us to have a permanent ice rink.
We have been told that 8,000 people visited the outside rink this Christmas – that must tell them something.
Having taught our grandchildren to ice skate, and visiting the rink at the BIC every weekend, we will be unable to carry this hobby on once the rink goes on February 24. Why can’t it stay?
Please can someone tell me why it has to go?
