I WISH to add my two penneth to the furore surrounding the remarks made by councillor Xena Dixon about the twin sales bridge and its poor performance.
What is she supposed to do? Say she approves of the situation!
Stay neutral and insult our intelligence? As head of transportation she stated the obvious and has been pilloried for it. The real villains of the peace are the Poole councillors and their egos.
What was wrong with a simple bridge pivoting 90 degrees on a pillar placed in the middle of the channel – its certainly wide enough.
Simpler, cheaper and as effective but not enough of an exciting mission statement I suppose?
