ON Saturday, July 13, the hottest day of 2013 so far, I was entering the Tivoli Theatre, Wimborne, for the first time in over 20 years.
I’m 81 years of age, somewhat subject to claustrophobia and suffering from the heat of the day, so why was I driven to enter this place?
Andre Rieu live from Maastricht via satellite link.
On entering the Tivoli I was immediately impressed by the wonderful, cool air-conditioned atmosphere, the cleanliness and well maintained feel of the place. I immediately relaxed and perused the gathering audience, all apparently ready for an evening of audio and visual experiences par excellence a la delightful Mr Andre Rieu and his wonderful ensemble of impeccably presented associates. Bless every single gifted one of them.
On approaching the countdown to 7pm the gentle babble of expectant voices hushed and we were treated to three hours of an impeccably crafted banquet of musical excellence guaranteed to set every heart singing and every toe tapping.
Weren’t there? Eat your heart out.
