I REALLY feel the need to respond to my own letter recently in the Echo regarding driving re-tests.
The same day that letter was printed, I had to do a journey along the A31/M27/M3 at peak times when the traffic was slow moving and stationary at various points. What I saw on that journey has convinced me of my own need of a re-test.
While I feel confident in my competence in driving while listening to music, I am considerably underskilled compared with other motorists who were able to undertake driving their vehicle while consuming their breakfast, applying make up, shaving and – the most popular – talking on a mobile. Indeed the modern driving test is far more advanced than I imagined.
