I AM writing about the bus shelter at Bournemouth Travel Interchange. Given the attempts to make Bournemouth a ‘top holiday destination’, could I ask when something is going to be done about this abysmal ‘facility’ for visitors and residents alike?
Apart from being an effective wind-tunnel, for some years now it has leaked from end to end, and today, Sunday July 28, was as wet inside as it was out – not a single folding seat was dry.
Two foreign students in front of me walking its entire length from the underpass bus-stop to Asda (as I was), inside the shelter, put their umbrellas up again!
This same ‘facility’ was leaking some years ago, and I reported it then. I recall there was some question not only as to who owned it, but who also was responsible for its maintenance.
The same applies to the desperately erratic ‘live’ displays at bus stops – about as much use as a chocolate fire-guard.
