CAN you imagine turning up for your weekly shop and being greeted by a large luminous sign saying: “Thank you for letting us rip you off – we value your custom.”
Well, that is precisely what is happening with millions of shoppers too busy multitasking with insufficient hours in a day to get everything done and consequently placing their trust with their favourite supermarket to conduct themselves professionally.
Every time I shop in any one of the wide choice of popular super markets locally I find, within minutes, misleading offers. Examples are 2kg ‘better pack, better value’ spaghetti for 27p more than two single 1kg bags. Carnation milk at 36p a tin or two for 80p. My favourite are the peas ‘reduced’ from 35p to 35p.
There can be no excuse for ripping customers off with dishonest offers.
