I BEG to differ with Cllr Lawrence Williams in Monday’s Daily Echo re seating on the sea front. I was born in Bournemouth 84 years ago come August and we had a lot of seating along the sea front. Not everyone wants to pay £2 plus for a drink and sit outside a restaurant and how long would they want you to?
Maybe he has never gone to the beach for the day with flask and sandwiches. Old souls like to, and to totter along the prom a bit. We have no strength to carry or put up a deck chair, we cannot sit down on the beach as we cannot get up again and need to sit on a seat provided by the council.
Where are our little buildings with seats to the seaward side, seats to the prom and seats at the end? They have been taken away, put them back. As for the Waterfront entertainment space, lovely for the wet weather. What are the council thinking about? Heaven help all the old age pensioners. Bournemouth is not for us.
