I refer to your recent article regarding the filthy toilets near Boscombe Pier.
While I mostly agree with sentiments expressed, I hasten to point out that the conditions described are the fault of persons using the facility.
I have a beach hut on the opposite side of the pier.
The toilets there are regularly inspected and cleaned by a team who do their best to ensure cleanliness in this old building.
To stress my previous point of responsibility, a few days ago a pile of human excrement was discovered near the beach huts no more than 30 yards from the toilet block.
When informed, two members of the beach staff attended within 10 minutes. They removed and cleaned the mess completely. They are both to be congratulated.
This surely proves that the state of public toilets is the responsibility of us all and not left to the good offices of the beach staff.
