ON these lovely summer nights I really enjoy taking my dog for a walk and a run on one of the selected beaches.

One night last week I went to the Chines to give him a bit of a run. On the way back there was a party going on. Now I am no party pooper, in fact I love a good party and don’t blame anyone who wants to enjoy themselves, but what happened really shocked me.

A male ran on to the beach with a massive firework that was already lit and placed it on the beach just yards from me and my dog.

Before I could do anything there were sparks flying everywhere and such loud bangs my poor dog almost jumped into my arms with fright.

What a selfish insensitive act that was. You frightened my dog so much I now wonder how he will be the next time I take him for a summer evening stroll.
