I was disgusted to read that the Vulcan will be returning to the Bournemouth Air Show this year.
The announcement was made in the same week we remember the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, where thousands of human beings were burnt and poisoned. Let’s not forget that the Vulcan was designed to carry nuclear weapons.
The purpose of the Vulcan was to be a mass killing machine. On combat missions to the Falkland Islands, most of the time it missed the targets, and on once occasion it didn’t even make it home.
Why it pleases crowds to stare at this expensive monument to British military incompetence, while it pours pollution over Bournemouth seafront, is a mystery to me.
