I HAVE just read in your newspaper of the possibility that the Tourist Information Centre in Wimborne could be closing.
What an asset to the community. The information they have, the knowledge of the area, community needs, help and advice regarding hotels, guest houses, B&B, coach bookings etc.
I thought the idea was to promote Wimborne facilities as a market town. My understanding from various surveys is that some 80 per cent of trade etc comes from tourism. The ambience of this historic town offers connections that go back many years to the seat of the Tudor Dynasty and saints connected with Ochsenfort, Germany.
I think this is a retrograde step to the town. All the hard work that Rachel Limb has done to should not be wasted.
