ONCE again the lack of seating on the promenade of Bournemouth has been mentioned in the Echo (Letters, August 6 and 10).
The shelters that were at intervals along the beach/promenade, which at times protected you from the wind or sun and provided a seat, disappeared a few years ago. We all know that they were old and falling apart because the wood that the top parts were made of was rotting.
So, why not invite a national conservatory/window company to replace the top halves? The brick and conrete bases are still there and seem very stable. A panel on each end of each one with the name of the supplying company (vetted by the council) would be so simple.
I feel sure the double glazing companies would come flocking to your door to do the job and get that all-important bit of advertising.
