Father Chris Colledge at St Stephen's Church in Bournemouth where he caught a lead thief in the act of stripping the church roof and called in the police
ON watching Fight Back Britain on BBC1 on Monday the programme as promoted in an article in the Echo of last week, I wanted to say how very much I admire the spirit of civic-minded Rev Chris Colledge and Norman Decent when spending the night at St Stephen’s Church to capture a lead thief.
Both men already do so much to preserve what all of us value ie cleanliness in open areas and fight back against anti-social behaviour.
Their bravery is a lesson to us all and a deterrent, I hope, to any further lead predators that may desire the riches of church roofs in Bournemouth.
