WITH reference to the Bat Bus service, (Echo August 29), yes, it is £10 for a year – some staff have to be paid – but £5 for a return trip to Castlepoint or the Sovereign Centre with a two-hour stop is cheaper than a taxi.
Also, when you have finished shopping, you can have a cuppa and a biscuit and chat for £1.
Then having your shopping carried to the door is a boon to us with a rollator or a walking stick.
We are a friendly lot. There is also a weekly outing for a lunch, door to door. Joining the Bat Bus is the best thing I have ever done. Try it and see.
