I WAS very disappointed to read that Transdev Yellow Buses are withdrawing the number 12 open top bus.
If they are blaming poor passenger numbers, this probably only applied to the last two years, when the service was not advertised, withdrawn from bus timetables and only ran between the two piers – walking distance.
Previous to this, I and several friends often used the number 12 bus when it ran all along the scenic coastal road from Sandbanks to Christchurch and Hengistbury Head in summer.
The bus was always full of passenger, residents, holidaymakers and families.
Up until the time when Bourne-mouth council sold Yellow Buses to Transdev it was very popular, was included in the bus time table and ran from the end of May until September.
Since Transdev took over they have not advertised it and have not included it in the timetable, and reduced journeys to August only.
