I want every single household and business within the New Forest National Park to be asked the following simple question:- Do you want a 30mph speed restriction, on the open Forest roads – yes or no? (Forest-wide 30mph limit gets closer, Daily Echo, June 19).
My comments are that vehicles create more pollution staying under 30mph than 40mph.
It will create lazy driving, frustration and congestion.
It is very sad when a pony, for example, is injured or killed, but their numbers are not high, compared to the amount of traffic the forest roads have to cope with. Commoners do receive a grant from Defra, therefore they are not completely out of pocket should they lose one of their animals.
The National Park is not a Safari Park.
