CYCLISTS should be banned from the promenade along the Bournemouth seafront because they are a danger to pedestrians, especially children and the elderly.
Last week, my wife and I walked along the promenade at Southbourne and in the space of 30 minutes, counted 50 cyclists coming by us in both directions.
Those from behind could not be heard until they were passing us, which we found very dangerous.
Owners of beach huts must be in constant fear for their children.
Perhaps the Bournemouth council would prefer to ban pedestrians and keep it for cyclists as a race track!
