THE case of the “traumatised pensioner” (Too scared to go out, Daily Echo, June 18) has prompted me to write and tell you of another traumatised pensioner who, one-and-a-half years ago, while getting ready for bed, was confronted in her bedroom by men who demanded money.

She was so frightened that she cannot remember how many there were or how much of her considerable life savings they took. After a week of not eating, or undressing and going to bed and being completely terrified, we had to find her a home.

She has been there ever since. This has escalated her dementia and incontinence. Her bungalow was sold and is paying for her keep.

As she was unable to help the police, nothing has been done, so these men have got away with it.

No wonder we all feel worried, frightened and pretty furious. Was this the same gang, we wonder?
