Up to the age of 16, parents are fully responsible for their children, both inside and outside their home (Sick youths’ reign of terror on Bourne Estate, Daily Echo, June 23).
I am unaware of any parent having been made to account for the bad behaviour of their kids outside their home.
If such parents cannot, or will not, be made to account for their kids, then these kids should be detained in a place where, hopefully, they might learn that antisocial behaviour, in any form and in any place, will not be tolerated.
It is totally unacceptable that a community should have to suffer at the hands of a few out-of-control kids.
